SOM Goes to Beaconfest: A Bounty of Senior Fun!

Montrose Delta Colorado Beaconfest

SOM Footwear is excited to be a part of the fifth annual Montrose- Delta BeaconFest Boomer & Senior Fair.

Montrose Delta BeaconFest.Held at the Montrose Pavilion September 17th, SOM will join 50 vendors for a fun filled day of live music, great food, door prizes and more. Musical acts will include Beth Williams, Mike Gwinn, Danny Agajanian, Paula Dunfree and Ron Koss. Hula hoop dancers Mary Lee Bowen and Ellen Roberts will also be making a special appearance. Seminar topics will include health and wellness in the second half of life, an introduction to medicare and medical marijuana and natural hormones.

At our vendor booth, the SOM team will be educating seniors about the importance of proper footwear and how it plays an essential role in your overall health and wellness. We will be covering topics like what to look for in a healthy shoe and the benefits of barefoot or minimalist shoes (according to podiatrists).

Correct Toes toe spacers can correct foot issues and deformities. For those with preexisting conditions like bunions and hammertoes, we will be displaying Correct Toes toe spacers. Wearing toe spacers can help realign and strengthen your feet, reversing the damaging effects of wearing restricting shoes. All of our shoes are Correct Toes compatible.

Since the only way to truly experience SOM Footwear is to try it for yourself, we will be offering a free gift to anyone who tries on a pair of shoes at the event. We will also be showcasing all of our current, American made shoes. It's not everyday that you get to try on a pair of shoes that was made in your hometown!

Custom breast cancer awareness sneakers designed by K.K. of Buffalo, NY. The excitement doesn't end there- we will also be taking orders for our SO Me Custom shoes. The SO Me line allows you to choose your own fabric to be turned into a one of a kind pair of sneakers. We will have samples at our booth for inspiration!

We hope to see you at this fun, free event!

“It’s surprising how much fun people have at BeaconFest,” BEACON Publisher Kevin VanGundy said. “I’d expect folks to stop by for an hour or two, but we are having a growing number of people who stay the whole day.”
